Printer Setup
Receipt Printer Setup:
You can setup your receipt printer either on startup of a new station or in Station Settings. To add a printer, just select the printer model from the drop down box. If your model is not on the list either select Generic Printer or a printer with a similar make and model number to the one you have. Newer printers by the same manufacturer often have similar settings. Then choose the printer name. This is a list of all printers that are recognized by your computer. Finally, if your printer auto cuts the paper after printing, check the Printer Has An AutoCutter box.

The model is important when using a cash drawer. Different models have different codes they send the cash drawer, and if using the incorrect model your drawer may not pop. Additionally, the model is also necessary when using an auto cutter printer. If you cannot find a printer that works you can either contact us or try the advanced printer setup.

If your receipt printer is not on the Printer Name list, see Windows Help for adding a printer.

Report Printer Setup:
To setup a report printer select File – Report Printer Setup from the Manager Dashboard screen. Choose your printer from the list of printers recognized by the system. This can either be a local printer or a shared network printer. This should be a printer that prints full size sheets of paper and NOT your receipt printer. Click select printer, and then click the Done button.

If your report printer is not on the list, see Windows Help for adding a printer.

Additional Printer Setup:
When printing to another printer like a kitchen or service station you must setup additional printers on that station. To do this click the Setup Additional Printers button on the Manager Dashboard screen. Here you must select a printer and enable it by checking the box under the printer.

Kitchens or service areas do not necessarily need a computer to print. You can purchase a stand alone print server that will receive the print job and print it without being attached to a computer.

To use additional printers you must setup the print routing in each menu item during the menu item setup.

Advanced Printer Setup:
If you are unable to pop a cash drawer or auto cut a receipt using any of the provided models you can use advanced printer setup. This allows you to enter the codes directly from the manufacturer. These are available on the printer manufacturer’s website or in the manual.

Additionally, you can control the print width of your receipt printer. If the printer is not printing each line to a single line or the line is not covering the printer paper you can change the print width. 40 is the default print width.

See
Advanced Printer Codes for more specific pop/cut printer codes.

Logo Setup:
You can setup a logo to print on all receipts. To do this you must be using a compatible printer, and use the printer driver utility to upload the image to the printer. Once the image is uploaded, select the Receipt Logo compatible printer type.

Currently logo printing is only available with most models of Epson and Star brand printers.
